A case of Clitoromegaly.

Clitoromegaly is the condition characterised by a bigger than normal size clitoris in an otherwise healthy female.

The patient presented to the gynaecological clinic with her mother. She was just 15years.
Her complaint (or rather her mother's complaint) was that her clitoris appeared bigger than normal.

After getting a detailed history and undergoing a thorough examination, the consultant concluded that it was a case of clitoromegaly. He added that since the clitoris is a highly vascularised organ.

Any surgical intervention on the clitoris of this patient would amount to Female circumcision. She is to be allowed to grow normally and optimally. Her parents were advised to let sleeping dogs lie and not be bothered.
