ASUU suspends strike

 




Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities have suspended their over a month old strike action. The lecturers proceeded on a strike on August 14th.

Eid-El-Fitri: FG declares Monday, Tuesday Public Holiday

To mark the Eid-El-Fitri for this year 2017, the Federal Government has declared Monday June 26th and Tuesday June 27th as public holiday. Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration on Thursday in Abuja on behalf of the Federal Government.

The Igbos are the richest, most educated Nigerians in the country today- Sen Ben Murray-Bruce

Yesterday, the senate had a debate on the need for National Unity and Peaceful Coexistence in Nigeria. While speaking on the floor, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce said that the Igbos who are currently saying they are marginalized, are the richest, most industrious and educated people in the country. He stressed the need for those clamoring for war to be educated on the dangers of war as seen in the 1967-1970 civil war in Nigeria.

PRESS STATEMENT BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS FORUM, HIS EXCELLENCY, ENGR. DAVID NWEZE UMAHI, IN RESPECT OF THE THREAT TO NDI IGBO BY AREWA YOUTH

1. The attention of the South East Governors Forum has been drawn to the widely publicised ultimatum, credited to a coalition of 16 northern youth associations or groups, demanding that Ndi Igbo resident in Northern Nigeria should vacate the region within 90 days or before the 1st day of October, 2017; and equally urging northerners resident in Igboland to return to the North within the same time spectrum.

#BBNaija Winner, Efe, Get Appointment From Plateau State Government!!!

Plateau state governor, Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has appointed BBNaija winner, Efe as the ambassador for entertainment and creative industry in the state. In a press statement signed by the Plateau state's director of press and public affairs, Emmanuel Nanle, the governor felicitated with Efe who grew up in Jos for winning the Big Brother reality show.

Anambra Resident Perfect The Act of Scaling Gully Gutters (Photos)... However This Resident Is Not Finding It Funny

Anambra state resident may be enjoying relative peace and tranquility at the moment, but it seems they know no true peace especially as one approach these jumbo, mega, gully-like gutters traversing the length and breadth of major towns in the state.

Gutters as high as the height of an average adult, remains a mystery especially to residents who over the years have had to be creative when there is need to scale one of those jumbo gutters. The photo above was shared by a concerned resident of the state on her Facebook timeline FB/chidiebere maduafor. She confirms that the latest technique to scaling the Gully-like gutter is the Pulley-Lever Technique...

This is her plea and it begs for urgent answer

Breaking News: Ojo Maduekwe dies at 71

Former Foreign Minister, Chief Ojo Maduekwe is dead.

He was born May 6, 1945 in Abia State, Nigeria and was appointed Foreign Minister of Nigeria on July 26, 2007 by President Umaru Yar’Adua.
Maduekwe was also appointed Culture and Tourism minister by President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999, Minister of Transport in 2001.

Breaking News: FG Sacks Striking Resident Doctors Nationwide

The Federal Government has ordered immediate sack of striking resident doctors in the country.
The Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, in a circular signed by Amina Shamaki, the permanent secretary of the ministry, directed Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) and medical directors (MDs) of FG tertiary health institutions to fill the vacancies created by resident doctors who have “abandoned” their programme.

Is there anybody that doesn’t fall sick?- Buhari said as he departed for London to see an ENT doctor today

While leaving for London where he is expected to see an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor, President Buhari asked if anybody can't fall sick. He said this to newsmen at the airport before boarding his presidential jet
"Is there anybody that doesn’t fall sick? I have already told Nigerians that I am going for 10 days to get my ear checked” he said

President Buhari to proceed on a 10 days vacation to London..to see an ENT specialist..

A press statement has been released by the Presidency concerning a 10-day vacation President Buhari is about to undertake, to enable him to rest and also see an E.N.T (Ear. Nose. Throat) Specialist in London. The statement reads,
President Muhammadu Buhari will take 10 days off and travel to London on Monday June 6th to rest. During the holiday, he will see an E.N.T. specialist for a persistent ear infection. The President was examined by his Personal Physician and an E.N.T Specialist in Abuja and was treated. Both Nigerian doctors recommended further evaluation purely as a precaution.
