World Oral Health Day 2015
Smile for life’, the World Oral Health Day 2015 campaign, goes live!
Welcome to ‘Smile for life’, the World Oral Health Day (WOHD) 2015 campaign! This year, the theme merges two concepts: ‘a lifelong smile’ and ‘celebrating life’, both reflected in a series of campaign materials — toolkit, media and PowerPoint templates and, coming soon, posters and banners — available for download from www.worldoralhealthday.org.
On 20 March every year, National Dental Associations, dentists, dental students and the general public celebrate WOHD with a wide variety of activities to promote oral health awareness and teach good oral hygiene. The bar is set high for next year, as 2014 was the most successful WOHD ever, with celebrations taking place in well over 100 countries on all continents.
The ‘Smile for life’ WOHD 2015 campaign launched on 10 September in New Delhi (Greater Noida), India, at a Forum of FDI National Liaison Officers (NLOs) — responsible for maintaining communication between FDI and its members — one day before the opening of the 102nd FDI Annual World Dental Congress there.

World Condom Day: Foundation Set To Distribute 145, 000 Condoms
ABUJA- Ahead of this year’s World Condom Day, the AIDS Health Care Foundation(AHF), an NGO, says it will distribute 145,000 condoms in four states in North Central Nigeria.
The Advocacy Manager of the group, Mrs. Oluwakemi Gbadamosi, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Abuja.
She said that the distribution of the condoms as well as other activities lined up for this year’s occasion would help increase awareness on condom use and its role in preventing HIV/AIDS.
She said that interested persons in Abuja, Nasarawa, Benue and Kogi states would be provided with the commodity.
Gbadamosi said the activities lined up for this year’s celebration were in consonance with the theme for this year, which is “Condoms are Cool’’.
Gbadamosi said the theme was chosen to emphasise the importance of condoms and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
