Breaking News: Elechi Amadi dies at 82

PORT HARCOURT : ONE of Africa’s finest novelist, poet and dramatist Captain Elechi Amadi died Wednesday at the Good Heart hospital in Port Harcourt at the age of 82.

A member of the family, Bar Wabueze Amadi, confirmed the development to the Vanguard newspaper on phone, saying he passed on at about 3: 45pm at the hospital. The late captain Elechi Amadi was among the first generation of African writers and novelists.

Elechi Amadi Some of his works include The Concubine, The Great Ponds, Isiburu, Sunset in Biafra, Dance of Johannesburg, Peppersoup, The Road to Ibadan, The Slave , Estrangement and the Woman of Calaber.

Desperate parents plead for help after their son was born with 15 fingers and 16 toes

A baby has been born with a total of 31 fingers and toes to shocked parents who say there were no indications of his deformities on pre-natal scans.

The three-month-old boy, nicknamed Honghong, has 15 fingers and 16 toes. Incredibly, he also has two palms on each hand, with no thumbs, according to People's Daily Online.

 

His parents are now desperate to find medical treatment for him as doctors at their local hospital in Hunan, central China, tells them surgery will be extremely difficult.

100 Igbos killed by Fulani herdsmen in Enugu today -FFK

Former aviation minister, Fani Kayode has alleged 100 Igbos were slaughtered today by Fulani herdsmen .

Earlier, it was reported about 20 were killed in Ukpabi Nimbo,Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, after armed cattle herdsmen, reportedly numbering more then a hundred, swooped on the sleepy community in the early hours of Monday.

It was learnt that the herdsmen had previously fallen out with the villagers over their grazing activities in the community.

The villagers alleged that most of the herdsmen that were involved in Monday’s attack were ‘imported’ from Nasarawa State by other Fulani herdsmen who were already operating in Enugu

NPMCN RELEASE STATEMENT ON WHY ITS SITE EXPERIENCED OVER 24HR DOWNTIME.
