1) Skin to Skin Contact; this is to ensure that the neonate maintain an optimal body temperature.
2) Exclusive Breast feeding; the infant is to suckle directly from the breast for at least six months for a term infant or by expressing breast milk into a cup and feeding infant with a spoon.
3) Support to the dyad; which means whatever is that is needed for the medical, emotional, psychological and physical well being of the mother and baby must be provide to them without separating them.
This is a therapeutic method of care for the neonate and essentially enhance bonding between mother and child.
