Scientist working on a research about the HIV/AIDS have suggested that the virus seems to be losing its virulence. The study further suggested that, the less virulent HIV could be one of several factors contributing to a turning of the deadly pandemic, eventually leading to the end of AIDS.
In a telephone interview with Philip Goulder, a Professor at Oxford University who led the study said, 'overall we are bringing down the ability of HIV to cause AIDS so quickly.'
Goulder's team conducted their study in South Africa and Botswana - two of the worst hit country by AIDS - where they registered more than 2,000 women with HIV.
This seem like the beginning of the end.
