Ebola Drug Under Trial.

I had to ask around from competent sources and sweep the Internet for this information, though not exhaustive, is a work in progress. The Ebola drugs you are soon going to read here may not be exhaustive, as more pharmaceutical companies work hard to get the vaccine/cure for Ebola.
Here are the Ebola vaccines currently on trial;

ZMAPP;
The first drug on the list. In the early stage of the epidemic, Zmapp was rumoured to be the only cure for the disease, this is despite the fact that the drug has not undergone clinical trial. However, in a recent animal studies, the Zmapp healed 18 monkeys.
Several patients who were infected by the virus have also been given the drug before the manufacturer's supply ran out. It is not known if the drug helped those patients that recovered.

BRINCIDOFOVIR;
This is an antiviral agent developed to treat several types of viruses. The drug is now undergoing clinical trial in Liberia. All new patients confirmed to be Ebola positive by blood test will be informed about this trial. If they opt-out of the trial, they will receive the usual supportive care.
The Brincidofovir Trial in Liberia is being run by Doctors Without Borders at the ELWA 3 centre.

TKM EBOLA-INJECTION;
Owned by Tekmira Pharmaceuticals of Canada is also on line. It works by receptor-blocking genes that enable Ebola virus reproduce and spread.

JOHNSON & JOHNSON VACCINE;
Though not the original name, the US Pharmaceutical giant, Johnson & Johnson said it has started human trials on vaccine against the virus. Phase 1 testing is being carried out by Oxford vaccine group at Britain's Oxford university.

We hope their work comes to light fast enough to curb the spread of the Ebola virus. The whole world depends on it.
