Vesico-Vaginal Fistula on Valentine's Day - Cool

Hmmm... Valentine's day is upon us yet again! But for the shift in the election dates, we would be out there casting our votes, in peace and tranquility. Now no elections, just plain old Valentine's day. I intended sharing something to my esteemed readers, but WHAT WILL THAT BE? Then it came!!!
Letter 'V' for Valentine and for VesicoVagina Fistula (VVF).

VVF is an abnormal fistulous tract extending between the bladder and the vagina, that allows the continuous involuntary discharge of urine into the vaginal vault. This often have a profound effect on the patient's emotional well-being. It is commonly caused at child-birth, known as obstetric fistula, Or it may follow surgeries.

As today is St Valentine's Day, I wanted us to know that the Federal Government is at the moment offering free VVF repairs in all of its approved centres. There is also free meal package for all women who would be on admission for the VVF repair while they are at the hospital.

The approved Federal Government VVF approved centres are
- Babbar Ruga Hospital, Katsina State
- Laure Fistula Centre at Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano State.
- National Fistula Centre, Ebonyi State
- University College Hospital at University of Ibadan, Oyo State.

Do encourage all women to report to these centres for prompt medical care.
