I spoke to some of my colleagues working in Federal Teaching Hospitals across the country and the reply is deafening: Despair, hopeless situation!!
This JOHESU is turning to be a waste of time and human resources. I really don't like going into the web of reasons for the strike by health workers. It can be very depressing. But what is certain is that this over 60-day old stike should come to an end.
Clinical postings for students directly attached to teaching hospitals is at a stand-still, with no end in sight. The government seems to be more concerned about election issues. This in itself is a misnomer.
Both sides should consider students who for now are losing skills necessary for their different fields.
Or how else can it be done my dear DQB readers?
If you have family or friends as student in any of these hospitals, currently on strike, do share with us. We just need their FIRST NAME, the name of the TEACHING HOSPITAL and what DEPARTMENT.
Maybe some one in authority will see this and decide to do the right thing. Enough is Enough!!!
