Surgeon general is a title used in theUnited States and many areas of the British Commonwealth to refer either to a senior military medical officer or to a senior physician commissioned by the government and entrusted with public health responsibilities.
Nigeria doctors have demanded among other things the establishment of the office of Surgeon-General. However controversial this is, the Federal seemed poised to acceed to the request of the doctors.
